Introduction
Welcome to my sad attempt at YABS (yet another blog site).
Who am I? Well, my name is Alan and I recently (2021) ended a twenty-five year career in Information Technology, with the last twenty years of if working for the largest health insurance company in the United Sates. I know there is a belief that if you spend 'too much' time with one company your technology skills get stale. This is true if you allow yourself to get stale, but it is really easy to stay fresh and relevant in a large company, provided that you:
- Are willing to learn, both on the job and in your personal time.
- Are flexible.
- Actively work your own destiny, and avoid letting things happen to you.
- Keep aware of trends in technology and leadership.
